BONO ENERGIA boasts more than 40 years experience in the design and production of biomass fired steam generators and thermal fluid heaters, using a variety of waste fuels such as olive husks, rice husks and wood chips, with more the forty installation supplied and in regular operation.
The fields of application of Bono technology are mainly the food processing industry and the wood industry, where the production waste, as for wood chips, saw dust, rice husks, etc, is used as fuel at no cost, with the aim to produce both heat to the process and electric power.
The application of Bono Energia boiler technology and design capability has always been of great importance in developing clean energy solutions based on small biomass fuelled power plants ranging in size from 2 MW up to 10 MW.

OUTSTANDING PROJECTS
wood2.jpgThe wide experience has assisted BONO ENERGIA in building one of the biggest biomass boilers in Italy. In operation at the present time, the plant is a superheated steam generator with a thermal capacity of 55 t/h, utilising olive husks as fuel and installed at an important olive oil processing plant in Puglia, Italy. The plant runs at 100% of MCR, 55 tph @ 450°C and 55 barg. CO emission value is lower than 50 mg/Nm3 daily average, ref. 11% O2, and complies with the very stringent prescription of Italian Law, even more strict than the EU Environmental Law concerning biomass heat and power recovery.
This success follows on from two other olive husk fired steam generators installed and commissioned during 1999. One of these, with a capacity of 10 t/h is at SAIM in Calabria; the other OLEARIA PUGLIESE in Puglia has a capacity of 25 t/h of superheated steam for the Power production of 4.5 MWe.
During the year 2000 Bono has supplied another two olive husks steam generators to North Africa, enlarging and confirming his presence with Eco-friendly technology into Mediterranean countries.

BONO TECHNOLOGY COMMITMENTS
In this field, Bono has made significant advances from a technological point of view, adapting its strategy both to the requirement for the optimisation of the thermal cycle and adapting to the strict laws concerning environmental legislation.
Together to this requirements, Bono combustion system combined with boiler or thermal fluid heater, has also matched some other some important features and advantages worth to be stressed out, because strictly related to boiler availability and duration of maintenance activities, as follows:
  • high efficiency 85-86 %;
  • reduced fouling;
  • high availability 7500-7800 hrs/y;
  • simple inspection due to convection section configuration;
  • simple extraction and replacement of tubes;
  • short intervention on the plant duration;
  • low thickness refractory walls.
